On Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 our school, Grades 1 to Secondary 4, went on a tubing trip to Forteau, Newfoundland and Labrador. We took chartered flights from St. Augustine to Lourdes de Blanc Sablon. A school bus picked us up at the airport and brought us to Mgr Scheffer school where we would spend the night. We also had a nice meal at the Anchor and we had fun shopping at the gift shop. After returning from our supper, we set up our beds, watched a movie and had lots of fun playing with our friends.
The next day, we got up early and enjoyed a nice breakfast at school from the Break for learning club. When breakfast was finished, we walked to the Osborne Museum in Lourdes-de-Blanc-Sablon. We had a chance to look at some beautiful paintings. One painting was super cool and made with tape. Most of the paintings are about things we do on the Lower North Shore. There was also some pottery that Mr. Osborne made and painted himself. The museum was enjoyed by everyone.

Next, the bus picked us up to bring us to the tubing hill. Everyone enjoyed a couple hours of tubing and some great snacks at the clubhouse. We learned that both the tubing hill and the clubhouse are run totally by volunteers. We also learned that they donate the money that they make to help others. The tubing hill is run by The Forteau Lions Club.
We really enjoyed our trip and can’t wait to go back again!
